Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, one of the nation’s oldest and most frequented historical public attractions, is looking for a Prep Cook to join us as we bring an updated café and menu to life for our guests. This individual will contribute to bringing Magnolia’s new dining experience to the next level. Note: This position does NOT have night shifts, and is part of the café tip share!

　　What you will be doing:

　　Work closely with the Café Supervisor through the soup-to-nuts process of running a café: food handling and inventory management; storing and rotation; prep station set-up and take down; sanitation and food safety; menu prep and execution; food preparation and presentation; front-end process including, but not limited to, customer interfacing, order taking/delivery, and taking payment; executing closing process duties

　　Follow AM prep list for café and food stations prior to opening; assists team with morning preparation of food and shelf stocking; sets up steam table on Front Line with appropriate water levels and pans in place

　　Prepare food by following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by our Café team

　　Supports with guest orders, offering assistance and menu suggestions when asked, and enter into Magnolia’s computerized system when needed

　　Assists with special events when needed

　　Performs other duties as assigned

　　Requirements

　　Who you are:

　　You’re energetic, optimistic, and love creating experiences through food

　　You’re 21+ (with the ability to sell/serve alcohol), have experience as a line cook and/or have been a server who has supported with food preparation activities, and enjoy the fast pace of the restaurant/culinary industry.

　　Baking experience preferred, but not required

　　You’re customer service oriented with excellent communication skills, and are tech-savvy. Experience with point-of-sale and inventory platforms a plus!

　　You understand that a great culinary experience requires precision, organization, and the ability to effectively multi-task, so you’ve honed your skills in each of those areas
