Description:
The ideal candidate for the Sales Manager role has a vast experience in the sales processes and functions of a hotel. We are seeking for a career sales professional and top producer within hotel sales who has demonstrated through performance a commitment and expertise in direct sales. Reporting to the Associate Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for the commercial management of group's requests (from 10 rooms booked per nights) assigned. The role of the sales manager is to understand the client’s needs, build loyalty with the client and offer the services as per the Hotel's policies and standards to achieve the sales objectives of the department.
Position Overview
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue target
Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key clients and partners
Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities, generating reports on market trends, performance of one´s market and forecasting
Analyze data to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency. Presenting findings and recommendations to management
Collaborate with marketing teams to create innovative promotional strategies
Carrying out proactive sales actions on a weekly basis to achieve department goals
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event planners
Travel to trade shows, fair, sales calls to bring in business
Respond promptly to incoming inquiries respecting the 24 hour response time part of the luxury standard
Qualify the incoming requests to obtain guest's needs
Prepare the proposal/quotation adjusting the offer to the client's needs and to the department objectives (price, availability and needs) to maximize the revenue
Monitor the evolution of the status of the group, taking into account the offers of the competition, destinations and adjust if necessary the offer
Carry out the closing of the groups until the contract and receive the first deposit. Than prepare the handover to the coordination team
Managing site inspections, organizing visits, room allocation, inspection of rooms and coordinates all departments to execute a perfect site inspection of the hotel
General administrative tasks within the sales department
Prepare contract, monitor signatures and following up on deposits
Enter and reconcile all the booking information within our internal system
Promote a good working environment within the Sales Department, promoting teamwork and supporting and collaborating with other colleagues at all times
Actively collaborate with colleagues in the department, helping whenever necessary
Maintain good relationships with your colleagues, both from your department and from the rest of the hotel's departments
Being part of the training process and onboarding for trainees and new incorporations in the department when needed.
Qualifications:
What we will love about you
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Minimum 1 year experience in sales department in tourism sector
Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury hotel setting
Fluent in English & Spanish
Skills and competence: Customer orientated, empathy, planning and organizing, attention to detail, problem-solving and teamwork.
