Scope of Position:
In this role you will be responsible for testing and implementing new alternative resins for Division-wide or multi-plant projects. As part of our Life Sciences Division Engineering team, you will be tasked with testing and validating alternative resins for all manufacturing sites at our Durham location, and implementation at our worldwide plants. You will be required to help our team maintain and advance our injection molding core capability and fundamental understanding at world class levels.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Test alternative resins, document process changes and implement in our global facilities
Develops injection molding processes using scientific molding fundamentals
Assists in the development of alternative resins
Completes installation activities for injection molding equipment, including but not limited to plumbing, mold hanging and overall equipment inspection and operation, in a safe and efficient way
Installation, startup and troubleshooting molding ancillary equipment including resin feed systems, thermolators, and hot runner controllers
Provides hands-on support to our manufacturing facilities with our most challenging technical problems, providing fundamentally sound and sustainable solutions
Basic injection molding machine ancillary equipment and mold maintenance
Troubleshooting of both molding process related defects and equipment mechanical issues
Required Education:
Apprenticeship program, secondary Technical Education or equivalent training programRequired Years and Area of Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the injection molding field
Experience supporting injection molding systems and maintenance and injection molding process development
Experience with multiple plastics manufacturing processes and multiple functional groups
Consult and advise on projects
Coaching and mentoring of others within the expertise area
Required Skills:
In depth knowledge of injection molding equipment
General knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
Strong computer skills; proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
Knowledge of Life Sciences or medical product molding
Knowledge of assembly, joining and automation systems
Soft Skills:
Positive teammate who is open and engaging to effectively collaborate with teams in a multi-cultural environment
Self-starter with the technical curiosity to learn and bring forward new ideas
Travel Requirements:
25%, including International travelHours of work:
Monday- Friday, standard business hours, 40+ hrs
Split shift and 2nd shift coverage hours may be required at times

The range for this position is $65,654.00 - $90,275.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
