　　Job Description:

　　General Description

　　Maintains and repairs a wide variety of automotive equipment, power source units, etc.General Requirements

　　Checks, maintains and repairs all types of automotive equipment and power source units, such as, trucks, tractors, lift trucks, diesel power units, etc.

　　Overhauls, repairs, adjusts, lubricates, repairs fenders and bodies and performs any miscellaneous duties incidental to the repair and maintenance of the above equipment and their component parts.

　　Uses all types of mechanic's hand tools and equipment, such as, valve grinders and refacers, brake testing and adjusting machines, wheel alignment machines, etc.

　　Checks work with feeler gages and special test equipment.

　　Handles parts and equipment manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.

　　Required Qualifications

　　Must have completed a formal apprenticeship OR have 8 years of equivalent training to qualify as a Journeyman.Preferred Qualifications

　　Should have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines and automotive vehicles.

　　Must be physically able to do heavy lifting.

　　Working Conditions and Hazards

　　Normal garage conditions.

　　May be exposed to grease, oil, dirt, gasoline, fumes, etc.
