Assisting patient and families from the second opinion process to the time they come here for care in a timely manner
Creating medical record number and uploading patients record and outside imaging studies
Maintaining the second opinion process portal up-to-date
Delivering concierge-level attention to service for each patient
Assisting in getting financial clearance of the patient
Preparing documentation needed for patients & families to do Visa application
Communicating to hospital staff of social/ economic problems of patient/family
Assisting patient families with housing
Meeting patients upon arrival and giving a tour of the hospital to the patient/families as needed
Visiting and assisting family/patients while they are in the hospital to ensure they are aware of the services being received and address any concerns/issues. Many times cultural differences lead to confusion with family expectations. The coordinator helps set the expectations. They identify any cultural or social issues that the clinical team and/or social work should be aware of
Communicating with clinicians and social workers of any concerns from families
Preparing discharge package and making any necessary follow up visits
Keeping surgeon inform of all relevant patient information
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree. International Business or Healthcare, or related field
One year of experience working in health care, social services, language services, or hospitality.
At least one year of experience serving in an international case coordination or social services role in an international clientele work environment preferred
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population, and all levels of internal and external customers
Written and verbal fluency in English required, and second language strongly preferred.
Problem Solving: Work requires the skills to Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Very Good Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in a pleasant and respectful manner. Displays sensitivity to the needs and concerns of others.
Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure information is complete and accurate; follows up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
Very good team player
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and communicate thoughts, ideas ad feedback.
Strong organizational skills in order to multi-task and control situations at hand.
Ability to works with and helps others to accomplish objectives.
Intermediate skills in MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with EPIC preferred
