  Job Description

  AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Sr Engineer to join our well established and growing Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) / Geotechnical department in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. As a key member of our CCR staff, candidate will be working on rewarding projects throughout the southeastern United States within a diverse culture and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

  The job responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.

  Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  Approves and signs off on work.

  Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.

  Presents complex technical solutions to clients.

  Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.

  Participates in development of technical proposals.

  Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

  Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects.

  Maintain existing client relationships and contracts by successful project delivery.

  Develop new clients and grow the CCR and Geotechnical practice state and region wide.

  Serve as a project manager and program manager.

  Attend client meetings and coordinate with diverse project teams.

  Participate in national organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM.

  Lead AECOM client development and design efforts and recruit new talent to build AECOMs team.

  Qualifications

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  Experience in CCR related projects

  PE in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or the ability to obtain a license by reciprocity

  Ability to travel within the Southeastern United States to visit team locations, client sites and regulatory agencies

  Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  9+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience.

  10+ Years of related project experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments.

  Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience

  Experience as a technical contributor on general civil and/or remediation projects.

  Ability to proactively assist in technical efforts and project team staff.

  Experience on large scale projects.

  Experience with storage tank, manufactured gas plant, renewable energy, landfill, and/or air projects.

  OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.

  Construction 30 certification

  Significant experience working in the capacity of a project manager and client contact.

  Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.

  Sponsorship is not available for this position.

  Relocation is not available for this position.

  As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a drug-screen.

  Position could be located anywhere in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia.

  Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $125,000-155,000 annual.
