DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager
Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager to join our Building & Construction team in Pittsburgh, PA.
What you'll do: * Responsible for overall management of Geotechnical Engineering Services, including P&L responsibility * Direct and execute Geotechnical project assignments including, engineering analysis and report preparation, field exploration and laboratory services. * Provide senior review of proposals and reports and ensure that commitments to clients are met. * Client relations and business development activities * Responsible for the mentoring and training of senior and junior professional staff and technicians. * Actively participate in professional and technical organizations.
What it takes to be successful: * BS Civil Engineering from and accredited engineering / ABET school required * MS in Geotechnical Engineering is highly desired * Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience required * Must have a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) * Excellent understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet our client's needs in the Kansas/Missouri market * Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential * Must speak and write English fluently
