Manufacturing Facility Maintenance Tech - Temporary - 2002962
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:We are seeking a temporary Facilities Technician in our Philadelphia, PA facility. This role will perform maintenance, repairs and improvements of office, production and outside areas of the facility. The Facilities Technician will assist in designing and determining specifications of structural additions and or changes in the facility, identifies and purchases necessary materials for assigned projects and assists with production machine maintenance and improvements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities* Facility Construction and Improvements:* Perform building modifications including planning demolition and construction - completes full rebuilds based on plans and specifications* Estimate job costs based on materials and labor while working within a set budget* Identify and purchase appropriate materials necessary for assigned projects* Assist in the design and planning of office and production areas structural improvements/modifications to ensure functionality objectives are met* Responsible for upgrades and improvements to external buildings and grounds to ensure employee safety such as walkways, and external structures* Perform routine maintenance of production and office areas such as touch up painting, repairing flooring and replacing broken ceiling tiles* Machine Maintenance and Repair:* Fabricates, assembles, alters, and repairs production machinery as directed* Provides input and design ideas for equipment improvements to increase and ensure operator safety* Safety:* Identify potential safety hazards and report to Operations Manager along with recommendations for corrective action* Follows all applicable company environmental, health and safety policies* Observes the highest safety standards when operating tools and equipment* Uses personal protective equipment as instructed and is proactive regarding safety issues and concerns
Education and Experience* High School Diploma or GED* 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Skills/Knowledge* Ability to perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs* Working knowledge of various hand and power tools used for construction and repairs* Strong awareness and commitment to safety* Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and instruction manuals* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as square footage, volume, and circumference* Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions
Physical Requirements* Standing for sustained periods of time, 50-75% of the time* Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another* Walk occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.* Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound* Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
