Manager – Facilities & Nursery Yard Operations

　　 Full Time Position: 7:30am-4:00pm M-F (Sat 7:30am-12pm for 10 weeks during Spring)

　　Bachman’s Wholesale Nursery has an opening for an experienced Manager of Facilities & Nursery Yard Operations who is skilled in leadership, strategic direction, planning, and execution. This position is part of the management team at Bachman's Wholesale Nursery. As a seasonal business, the position would experience differing job focuses throughout the year (based on operational need) offering variety throughout the year. Springtime is our peak season, requiring greater time commitment, while Fall/Winter is a period of more flexibility.

　　POSITION DUTIES:

　　Manage staff responsible for unloading, tagging, sorting, and confirming accuracy of inbound product 

　　Oversee irrigation systems for the wholesale nursery operation 

　　Facilitate general facilities maintenance utilizing staff and outside vendors

　　Play an integral role in equipment and asset planning and purchasing 

　　Train and monitor crews on proper business, safety, and maintenance procedures. Ensure teams are trained and certified on safety and equipment use. Be a partner to safety team and other managers. 

　　Other duties as assigned

　　QUALIFICATIONS:

　　Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Horticulture, closely related field, or 8-10 years of experience in industry/related role 

　　5 years experience with irrigation systems, facilities, and/or mechanized equipment

　　Excellent math, planning, and organizational skills 

　　Working knowledge of nursery stock and cultural practices 

　　MNLA Nursery Professional, desired 

　　Class E Water Operator, desired

　　CDL, Forklift and machine experience, desired

　　CAD software experience, desired
