Maintain and install conveyor belt equipment in and around underground coal mines and on the surface. Provides scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs to conveyor systems. Complies with all government regulatory requirements, including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA and DOT. Performs duties assigned by management as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly visual inspections
Performing routine and preventative maintenance to conveyor belts
Installing new or used conveyor belt components
Welding knowledge/skill
Mechanically inclined
Reads/interprets equipment manuals/work orders
Conducts conveyor system troubleshooting
Basic knowledge in reading of blueprints and of customer’s conveyor systems
Demonstrates proper rigging and signaling for hoisting operations
Efficiently observe conveyor system operations to detect defects or component malfunction
General fabrication and layout abilities
Follows instructions under the leadership of the Crew Lead to ensure all aspects of the job are covered to avoid any time-consuming delays as well as hazard and/or task training that may be required before the task begins
Ensures equipment is maintained in proper working order to avoid injury and work areas are kept clean/free of hazards which may endanger the health/safety of any employee
Performs work according to instructions from Crew Lead to ensure quality and satisfaction is achieved.
Must possess basic belt maintenance and or conveyor belt knowledge
Applicants must have a fundamental understanding of conveyance systems and have the ability to safely perform tasks such as installing new or used conveyor components
Experience
One to three (1-3) years of conveyor belt experience, preferred
Up to two (2) years of mining experience, preferred
Familiarity conveyor belt systems
Up to two (2) years of welding/fabrication
Good housekeeping practices
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED
Reliable transportation
Regular and punctual attendance
Effective communication is required
Basic arc welding, torching, and fabrication skills, required
Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations
Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
Promotes safety throughout the team
Safety operates equipment needed to perform job tasks
Ability to travel
Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measurement (whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)
Must have or be able to obtain all Federal and State underground and surface certifications and successfully complete industry approved training courses. Initial miner training will be facilitated by the company for selected candidates
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret metal rule
Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
Ability to push/pull as needed
Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
Ability to perform heavy labor and lifting 50+ lbs. on a regular basis and the capability of moving 100+ lbs., is necessary
