The Executive Director of Development plays a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of television and streaming projects, from conception to delivery. They will lead the strategic planning of current productions and future content development, ensuring alignment with Embassy Row’s vision and goals. With a focus on creative leadership, budget management, and industry trends, they will drive the successful execution of projects while fostering collaboration across diverse teams.

　　Primary/Core Duties

　　Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy aligned with Embassy Row’s content. Brainstorm, identify, and evaluate potential projects.

　　Pitching and Acquisition: Lead the pitch process for new projects to networks, streaming platforms, and other potential partners. Negotiate and secure rights for projects through effective deal-making and collaboration with external producers and writers.

　　Budget Management: Work closely with finance and production teams to develop and manage project budgets. Ensure financial efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining high production values.

　　Secondary Duties

　　Project Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the development process, ensuring projects are on schedule and within budget. Collaborate with creative teams to shape and refine concepts into high-quality, marketable content.

　　Creative Leadership: Provide creative direction and feedback throughout the development and production phases. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages the generation of fresh, high-quality ideas.

　　Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

　　Misc duties

　　Industry Trends: Stay informed of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities in television and streaming development and production. Identify and capitalize on industry shifts to maintain Embassy Row’s competitive edge.

　　Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, including writers, producers, agents, and network executives. Maintain positive relationships with staff on current productions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align development efforts with overall studio objectives.

　　Job Qualifications

　　The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience developing content.

　　Experience at a network or production company producing shows and formats.

　　Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills.

　　Excellent verbal and written communication.

　　The anticipated base salary for this position is $131,000 to $176,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
