POSITIONOVERVIEW The Plant Controls Engineer is the primary resource formaintenance and reliability of Encapsys Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs), HMI consoles, and power distribution systems, both for dailyoperations and with assigned projects. Problems that occur in theseareas must be solved timely by the position, or production and shipmentof quality product to customers will be compromised. The role worksclosely with maintenance, production and other staff to improve controlsystems and troubleshoot issues that occur. This position is located inPortage, Wisconsin at Encapsys, a wholly owned subsidiary of Milliken.This person will be on call 24/7 except for vacation. Work hours aretypically M-Fri. with flex between work from home opportunities. ThisPosition will support multiple sites and will require travel to helpthat support. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Maximized uptime and reducedinterruptions of control systems and equipment Improved reliability andperformance of plant PLC and communications systems On time and withinbudget completion of electrical aspects of projects Travel between threeEncapsys sites to support all PLC systems. Identification of areas forimprovement of controls and communications systems and powerdistribution systems, and implementation of these Design and manageplantelectrical power distributionsystems, PLC control systems and HMIapplications Provide recommendations on electrical specifications tomeet industry standards Preview, approve, and release all detailedelectrical drawings for production and installation Assign project workto internal and external engineers, programmers and CAD designers, anddirect their activities as needed Participate in capital projectsdelivering breakthrough results, developing and implementing electricalplans to include technical requirements, tasks, schedules, resources andmilestones Communicate...
