Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The Student Board Hearings manager in the Dean of Students office responsible for oversight for Conduct, Appeals and Academic Integrity Boards. Position will develop and implement policies related to board management; develop and implement advertising and marketing campaigns to the university community for board membership recruitment. Present information to small and large groups across the WSU system regarding board membership; Meet with potential board members regarding board selection, processes, and responsibilities; will empanel boards by assigning board members to hearings. Will collaborate and communicate with the Attorney General, CCS, and Office of Administrative Hearings to schedule hearings. Responsible for communication with respondents, complainants, witnesses, advisors, and other stakeholders when arranging board hearings. Provide oversight for the maintenance and management of the administrative record. Advise faculty, staff and students regarding policies, requirements, and procedures as they relate to the standards of conduct for students and academic integrity policies or processes. Create procedures, forms, workflows, and checklists for applications and administrative processes. Provide ongoing review and recommendations of procedures, forms, workflows, and checklists.
Required Qualifications:
• Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to details, organized, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines.
• Previous work experience at an institution of higher education.
• Experience working with diverse faculty, students, staff, and parents and families of students.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and leadership, including the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include working extended time frames, including late hours and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Student Affairs, or related field.
• Experience working with Maxient Software.
• Experience working with Title IX, VAWA, ADA, Title II, FERPA, WAC and APA, and other regulations associated with the position.
