Position Summary
Under the direction of the VP-Business Development-Diagnostic Laboratories, the Director-Business Development-Clinical Trial Services identifies and pursues new business opportunities with existing clients and prospects. This position is responsible for positioning Versiti and owned affiliates as a primary provider for central lab services outsourced work in the clinical trial services market. Target markets include small to midsize Pharmaceutical/Biotech Organization, small to mid-size CROs, Clinical Trial Consortium Groups, and Diagnostic Test/Instrument Developers. Role will serve as the primary business contact for all customers within clinical trial services and as needed, assist with customer service-related items.
Responsibilities
Qualify and secure new business within clinical trial services market.Achieve quarterly and annual sales plan for assigned territory.Secure and maintain MSAs (Master Service Agreements) with partners with the result of securing RFPs and executed statements of work.Collaborate with cross-functional groups to complete proposals and finalize contracts.Actively develops account plans, develops partnerships with accounts, and provides regular sales activity reports and pipeline to Senior Leadership.Provides general market and key competitor intelligence to internal stakeholders.Collaborates with company resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction.Interacts well with operations and has detailed understanding of company's operations including capabilities, capacity, and timelines.Maintains current professional knowledge in clinical trial landscape, Versiti's and its affiliates' expertise within Central Lab Services, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Transplant/Oncology, and other service offerings to serve as a basis for providing "value-added" expanded Company services to all appropriate partners.Organizes and hosts client visits and bid defenses.Uses CRM tool to manage and document territory and client information.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classificationUnderstands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirementsComplies with all standard operating policies and procedures
Qualifications
EducationBachelor's Degree in scientific or business field requiredMaster's Degree in business administration, life sciences or CRA (Clinical Research Associate) preferredExperience4-6 years direct sales experience in clinical trial services market requiredSignifi
