JOB REQUIREMENTS: Operate CNC Lathes and/or Machining Centers. Loadparts in and out of machines and inspect parts upon completion. Computedimensions, tolerances, and angles of workpieces or machines, accordingto specifications and knowledge of metal properties and shopmathematics. Move controls to set cutting specifications, to positioncutting tools and workpieces in relation to each other, and to startmachines. Observe milling or planing machine operation and adjustcontrols to ensure conformance with specified tolerances. Recordproduction output. Position and secure workpieces on machines, usingholding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools, and hoists. Removeworkpieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform tospecifications, using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges,calipers, and micrometers. Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or workorders to assess workpiece specifications and to determine toolinginstructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.Turn valves or pull levers to start and regulate the flow of coolant orlubricant to work areas. Verify alignment of workpieces on machines,using measuring instruments such as rules, gauges, or calipers.
