Description Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. Key responsibilities
Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis
Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
Estimate new and proposed product costs
Conduct variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Support audits and general ledger preparation
Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
Log a detailed record of collected data
Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Generate and complete internal cost audits
Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants
Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost Requirements - Extremely detailed and analytical
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts
Experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
Excellent attention to detail
