　　Practice Profile

　　The Operations Practice (OPS) Area is one of BCG's largest functional practices. We help our clients create competitive advantage by enhancing their performance and building strategic capabilities. BCG's expertise in Operations covers the following areas - supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing, service operations, cost efficiency, operational transformation, research & product development, program and project management, all with a strong digital and analytics overlay.

　　Manufacturing & Supply Chain are a key priority for our OPS practice area - in fact it is the largest business line within OPS at BCG.

　　Our work in M&SC is structured along three main questions:

　　• What to produce? deals with topics around make-or-buy both on a strategic and a more operational level. For example we supported an Automotive OEM with the question whether to enter into the battery cell manufacturing business

　　• Where to produce? is a subsequent question around production and supply chain networks. Recently we worked for example with a large healthcare client in making their global supply chain more resilient

　　• How to produce? finally focuses on the four walls of the factory or the warehouse itself. With a large consumer client we for example designed their future warehouse including latest technology to make it most efficient

　　Within each of the three questions we are guided by the three key strategic directions of operations leaders to enhance their competitiveness: They must simultaneously improve their value proposition, strengthen their operational resilience, and pursue sustainability.

　　Along the three areas outlined above you will

　　• Work with our clients on M&SC projects

　　• These projects can be on the one hand very strategic, but on the other very operational directly within a factory

　　• Work on creating/further developing our tool suite (e.g., our advanced network modelling)

　　• Work on partnerships with clients and our technology providers

　　What You'll Do

　　Your main focus will be on operations projects in your key area of expertise (e.g., digital engineering / innovation and technology management / design for sustainability).

　　You'll play a major role in growing your key operations topic through cases, client development, and intellectual property and product creation.

　　You'll build on and share your operations expertise within BCG, serving as a hub for the firm to reach new solutions, inputting new ideas, and drawing on your casework experience.

　　You'll carry out or provide expertise and support on operations projects for our key clients in Central Europe and beyond.

　　You'll contribute to BCG's practice area publications and to the Operations practice area's approach and tool kit, benchmarks, templates, and processes, including managing and developing third-party partnerships.

　　You'll work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on-site.

　　You'll support our business development efforts in client meetings and at industry conferences.

　　What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

　　You have worked in the industry and/or top management consulting and can demonstrate impressive results from prior projects to improve or transform operational processes.

　　Your deep knowledge allows you to analyze and interpret data through a business and economic lens, and to successfully advise international clients.

　　You are an active contributor to the industry, such as through your participation in associations, publications, or your passion about topics in this space (e.g., digital engineering, innovation and technology management, or design for sustainability).

　　You have either spent 2-4 years at a top-tier consulting firm working in this field or have gained substantial experience in the industry.

　　You have spent significant time in the industry in different disciplines, like general engineering, digital engineering, innovation or technology management, design for sustainability, engineering quality, manufacturing, digital, or lean.

　　You understand the technology, science, and managerial aspects of what it takes to bring a product to market both from a development and a manufacturing perspective.

　　You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English, in addition to strong presence, team spirit, and leadership skills.
