Position Summary
We are seeking a communication expert that is a problem-solver and understands challenges, breaks them down, and helps leaders develop and execute strategic/change communications. The individual will write compelling messages for leaders, create thoughtful presentations, and find innovative ways to engage employees to build a shared culture. The Communications manager will devise creative, non-standard solutions to help leaders effectively communicate vision and strategy to their teams, the wider Huron audience. This individual will develop executive communication strategies with a focus on global messaging, creating, and maintaining channels, and building content. The manager will also be responsible for supporting crisis communications, culture initiatives, and programs. The manager will be a part of the Huron’s communication’s team and will report to the enterprise communications leader and the person will also act as a business partner to our capability teams (digital, business advisory, corporate finance).

Responsibilities:• Provides counsel to business leaders on effective employee communication – written and verbal • Build and drive an impactful communications strategy, aligned to key priorities, grounded in communications best practices and a deep understanding of how the business operates• Drafts executive leadership and senior leadership announcements, and internal communications to effectively drive organizational change and alignment• Managing intranet site content and design strategy and execution; ensuring content is performing and adjusting accordingly• Identifies data to support communications messaging, content development, and channel distribution to improve internal consumption of Huron’s communications and that builds trust, drives organizational change, and alignment with Huron employees• Contributing to a high-performing team by sharing best practices / lessons learned and team "wins" across communications, marketing, and business stakeholders • Identify opportunities to modernize internal communications, make process improvements and drive efficiencies• Understands Huron’s brand guidelines and ensures all communications align to voice, tone and style
Supports external communications, including program and message development
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, PR/Advertising, Journalism
7-10 years of professional experience supporting executives on communications strategies
Ability to build trust with internal partners and quickly respond to business needs
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
Ability to work collaboratively with both communications counterparts and business leaders
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high-quality output
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment
Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail and the ability to articulate a clear point of view on complicated issues in clear, concise communications
Demonstrated experience building trust and influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders
Strong executive presence and comfort working with and advising senior leaders
Analytical mindset with experience interpreting data into meaningful insights / strategies
*Experience working in a matrixed organization, large corporate setting
*Chicago location preferred.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $100,000-$145,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $120,000-$174,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
