Duties Include:
Heat exchanger sizing – Determine required heat exchanger configuration to satisfy customer’s performance requirements. Work directly with customer and the sales team to ensure that the requirements specification is complete, reasonable, and within the capabilities of our heat exchangers.
Heat exchanger design – Mechanical design of heat exchangers and their components. Stress analysis of individual components and entire heat exchanger to ensure that it can handle the pressures, temperatures, and mechanical loads it may be subjected to. Design the part so that it can be manufactured in the most cost effective way, and that the parts can be easily assembled. Produce drawings to describe the parts. When applicable, determine that the heat exchanger and its production methods will satisfy pressure vessel code requirements.
Design of production processes – Determine the process required to manufacture new heat exchangers, or how to improve the process used for existing designs. Design of tools, fixtures, and equipment as required. Create work instructions for their use. Consult with suppliers to optimize the processes used.
Design maintenance – Revise drawings, specifications, work instructions, production tools, and equipment as requirements and processes change over time.
Sales support – Assist the sales team to consult with customers on technical issues regarding the use of our products. May involve travel to the customer site as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficient in use of computers with emphasis on MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
Proficient working with an MRP system
Experience with CAD software Solidworks
