Open to many roles Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assists patients with activities of daily living to include toileting, feeding, and ambulating. The Nursing Assistant role also takes patient weights, repositions patients, records Inputs and Outputs, and completes vital signs as directed by the professional nurse, and follows recommended infection control procedures during contact with patients. Is constantly vigilant to the safety needs of patients, taking necessary precautions as warranted and communicates concerns to the professional nurse in a timely manner. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment to enable staff to provide quality and timely care. Reports malfunctioning equipment promptly and removes from patient care area to maintain a safe environment. Participates in and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent Must be a graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program and must remain current on the Minnesota State Registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant BLS Certification Demonstrates proper use of all transfer devices and various equipment in the MSP/FBC/ICU departments. Successful completion of all training related to using these devices Demonstrates proper room order Demonstrates an understanding of the operation and transportation of hospital equipment including portable oxygen Verbalizes role in public address codes Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiar with Patient Information Database (Cerner)
