Description ABOUT AMPI: AMPI owns eight Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of a Cheese Packager is to assemble cheese barrels, monitor filling and seal cheese barrels, and put the pallets in cooler at or above production and quality standards while maintaining a safe, clean work environment. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities. Assemble barrels inserting hoops and liners. Placing barrels onto the line, moving to the press. Removing hoops and press plates upon exiting the chamber. Seal bags and taping of barrels. Weigh, tag and palletize barrels. Use forklift to move pallets into the cooler. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, supplies in bagging and work areas throughout the plant. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies. Assists with training new employees. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
