Banquet Manager - Destination Kohler

Opportunity
Primary focus is on the Banquet service staff, Banquet set-up staff and audio/visual
staff to ensure consistent five-star delivery of service and events. Additionally
responsible for positively contributing to the growth, profitability and image of the
Hospitality group through executing standards of excellence throughout The American
Club Resort, including assisting in other Food & Beverage operations as needed.
Specific Responsibilities
Sales
Responsible for initiating and maintaining high quality service efforts that willincrease the number of catering functions through flawless banquet execution.
Handling the planning and execution of service for all functions involving banquetfood, beverage and meeting services.
Working with Conference Service Managers to ensure client programs aresuccessful through completion.
Service
Execution of service details of all contracted food and beverage events througheffective communication with the Executive Chef, Purchasing, Floral, Set-up crew,Stewarding, waitstaff and any other appropriate personnel.
Plan appropriate staff scheduling of all Banquet functions.
Communicate requirements of all assigned Banquet functions to appropriate staffthrough pre-service meetings.
Supervise by utilizing Banquet Captain service at each assigned client function.
Develop a personal rapport with clients that will encourage trust and confidence.
Maintain the highest standards of service to guests and ensure they are adhered toby all associates.
Assess buffet and coffee break presentations on an on-going basis and makeschanges necessary to reflect current trends.
Attend Special-Events meetings and assist in their creative development.
Assist with coaching and training of service standards in other The American Cluboutlets as needed
Supervision
Directly supervise banquet captains, set-up leads, and AV leads.
Ensure meetings occur with Conference Service department, banquet set-up staff,banquet service staff, banquet chef, audio/visual staff, etc. to review thecoordination of upcoming catering and conference requirements.
Supervise all administrative responsibilities of banquets, including payroll, tipdisbursement, scheduling, communications, and budgeting; supervise monthlyinventory of liquor.
Supervise staff of other outlets during leadership vacancies
Human Resources
Approve the hiring, discipline, evaluation, and terminating of all positions undersupervision.
Ensure all Banquet associates attend Hospitality Group New AssociateOrientations.
Complete performance reviews with employees in a timely fashion (90 day,annual).
Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all staff across the resort.
Ensure corporate and Hospitality Group policies and procedures are followed.
Act as a manager during times of vacancy in other outlets to ensure all HRpractices and procedures are adhered to.
Training
Set and maintain service standards for all positions, including grooming codes.
Maintain and update all Banquet training certification materials on a timely basis.
Maintain and enhance an on-going training program for all newly hired Banquet
Skills/Requirements
A four-year degree is strongly preferred.
5+ years practical experience required in both high volume and fine diningestablishments or Banquet functions.
Food Manager Certification required or completion of this certificate within sixmonths of employment.
Responsible Beverage Certification required along with a permit to vend alcohol inthe Village of Kohler.
The salary range for this position is $77,400 - $97,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
