The Infant Feeding Technician is responsible for the preparation and delivery of all infant feedings including formula and breast milk. Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies relate to the institution's HACCP plan of enteral feeding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:1. High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:1. Enrolled for 2 years in a nutrition and/or health science focused college program.2. Bachelor of Science in Nutritionand/or health science focused college program.EXPERIENCE:1. Experience in infant formula and breast milk preparation.2. Experience in hospital foodservice.

Assist with calculating new formulations or standardized recipes manually or via the use of specifically designedsoftware, andobtains verification of those formulations with the registered dietitian responsible for the nutrition care of that patient, as needed per protocol.Assists in training other employees in infant feeding preparation and proper handling techniques, as needed.Accesses hospital computer systems to receive, prepare and respond to routine electronic correspondence.Communicates with patient's registered dietitian, nurse, physician, or unit manager regarding problems with feeding orders, formula storage, or administration.Verifies new or questionable infant feeding orders with a registered dietitian for accuracy and obtains standardized recipes as needed.Sterile, ready-to-feed infant formula will be used whenever possible.Assists in the preparationofinfantformula accurately according to established written formulations, following pre-established feeding preparation procedures and adhering to quality control standards. Uses a gram scale, measuring spoons, syringes and graduated cylinder to precisely measure and mix additive ingredients.Performs identification of breast milk/formula containers using bar code scanning, thawing,fortifyingand labeling 24-hour supply of feeds for each infant according to written policy and procedures.Maintains daily logs of feedings prepared and delivered.Stores...
