Job Title: Assembler - Fabricated Sheet Metal Products

Job Description

An assembler in our manufacturing company is responsible for putting together various components and subassemblies to produce our finished fabricated sheet metal products.

Responsibilities

Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.

Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

Accurately read and follow blueprint specifications to ensure correct assembly.

Proficient use of hand tools in assembly processes.

Use of overhead cranes and forklifts to move product throughout the assembly area.

Mechanical assembly

Ability to read and follow blueprint specifications

Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts

Additional Skills Qualifications

Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies with internal purchasing department.

Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Fully participate and support the Quality System.

Job Type Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
