The North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Central Flow team provides critical operational insights to the Amazon Fulfillment Technology team and works with leaders to develop advanced and intuitive automated flow control for Amazon fulfillment operations. Central Flow is comprised of multiple business verticals each tasked with monitoring and overseeing different aspects of daily operations throughout Amazon’s fulfillment network.
As a Central Flow Area Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage and develop a team who are tasked with the most analytical and impactful function of running Outbound Flow for Fulfillment Centers across Amazon. We seek a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and has a consistent track record of delivery. You must have the experience and capability to create and present documentation for senior leadership of multiple Fulfillment Centers and align your roadmap with Amazon’s objectives. A key to influencing shareholders is to have the ability to solve complex, technical problems with simple, innovative and practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience will include working with data to understand defect mechanisms and creating solutions that eliminate these defects. Successful candidates will be comfortable leading teams with advanced analytical, mathematical, and quantitative capabilities.
Key job responsibilities
Ability to grasp the operational concepts of flow settings for multiple FCs with different volume and demand patterns.
Demonstrate ability to coach, motivate, and influence team behaviors
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ownership – able to manage a business that can operate 24/7 (including holidays) and commit the time required to get the job done.
Business analysis and partnership across Amazon with Amazon Fulfillment Technology, SME and NA Fulfillment Center leaders to develop new operating opportunities.
Manage a team of flow leads as direct reports, with responsibility of a large department within a time-critical and fast paced environment.
Leverage ideas of Central Flow Leads to source and nurture creative improvement plans for the Central Flow and Fulfillment Center Operations and take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all Fulfillment Centers.
Be a Subject-Matter Expert on Flow and Fulfillment activities within the Amazon FC’s.
Continuously monitor performance of FCs that are attributable to Central Flow and take corrective steps whenever required to optimize outbound productivity performance and Customer Experience.
Understand and teach detailed flow concepts operators in Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
Ability to advise and teach standards to the managers through multiple communication forms and act as an advisor for standardization/automation.
Act as a leader of leaders, and support the development/training of other managers within the organization.

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of employee and performance management experience
Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
Ability to analyze and use data to provide thought-provoking and workable solutions
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
Excellent written and spoken communication
Experience managing a team of 30+ employees
Experience managing people managers
Previous experience as a manager in a Manufacturing environment
Experience leading process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
Take initiative to lead projects and help team achieve goals
Track record of Ownership and Deliver Results
Demonstrated long term thinking and large scale impact
Ability to successfully own projects throughout multiple operational buildings across the nation
