The cooperative does business in agronomy, energy, grain, tires, irrigation, and retail. Sunrise FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada. * PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT* Responsible for sales and agronomic support to the Crop Specialists providing agronomic knowledge, recommendations, and solutions to bring added value to growers and prospects. * ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Conducts and supports sales calls with targeted accounts and coaches crops specialists on selling techniques using the FS Roadmap Focuses on company goals and objectives that will grow the seed, chemical, and dry fertilizer business and develop profitable relationships with customers Assists with the development and/or implementation of all crop input support needs Aids Crop Specialists with all crop input sales strategies that generate profitable sales Participates in selected sales activities, including customer meetings and sales meetings, to keep abreast of sales trends and sales environment Creates and manages a whole farm proposal by providing value-added products, services, and solutions on a frequent basis Assists with marketing plan implementation and nutrient management strategies Teach and develop the agronomic skills of Crop Specialists and Crop Associates Scouts crops to ensure they meet the appropriate agronomic conditions and makes proper recommendations regarding ways to improve and increase customer satisfaction Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities Maintains a current knowledge of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends Completes and maintains a competitive analysis for all key competitors Identifies progressive customers and coordinates the sharing of these lists with all company sales representatives Completes all reports as required Works with Microsoft Office products and other proprietary software to enhance business processes and maximize efficiency * OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS* Maintains industry and university contacts to keep informed on developing trends and product introductions in assigned product areas Creates and participates in presentations during customer meetings and trades shows as required Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Performs all other duties as assigned * REQUIREMENTS* Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field of study. A minimum of 4 years agronomy selling experience is preferred. Experience to demonstrate strong reasoning, ability to solve practical problems and handle customer and/or operational issues Requires Certified Crop Advisor certification (CCA) or the ability to obtain within reasonable period Demonstrated GROWMARK core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record Must be able to travel independently and overnight Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal” Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
