Bethel is hiring an Activites Coordinator to our team. If you enjoy helping others, forming relationships, are creative and like to have fun, then this job is for you! The Activities Coordinator provides for an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
In this position, you will be working directly with residents as they take part in a wide range of daily activities, ranging from crafts to special musical guests, to fieldtrips and special outings.

We are currently seeking an Activities Coordinator to oversee our activities and events calendar. In this role, you will organize on-site activities and off-site excursions, seeking to build a sense of community while enriching the lives of our residents. These activities may include crafts, game nights, exercise classes, or cultural enrichment (such as museum exhibits, book readings, or cooking classes). You must have a flexible schedule around the holidays, as seasonal entertainment can significantly uplift the spirits of our residents. Applicants should have some experience in recreation as well as an energetic, positive attitude.
Activities Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
Provide an activities program on a daily basis including evenings and weekends. Provide a plan of activities appropriate to the needs of the residents that includes, but is not limited to: Group social activities . • Indoor and outdoor activities, which may include daily walks . • Activities away from the facility . • Spiritual programs and attendance at houses of worship. Opportunity for resident involvement in planning and implementation of the activities program .
Creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama, educational programs, and exercise activities
Promotion of facility / community interaction . • Assure that at least thirty (30) minutes of staff time is provided per resident per week for activities duties . • Prepare a monthly calendar of activities written in large print and posted in a prominent location that is visible to residents and visitors. • Coordinate the activities program with other services in the facility .
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers when appropriate .• Assess resident needs and develop resident activities goals for the written care plan . • Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes .
Review goals and progress notes .
Properly document MOS reports and progress notes .
Obtain necessary equipment and supplies and provide for their accessibility through organized storage. Participate with the administrator in developing a budget. Foster family and community support of the activity program (e. g., through newsletters, networking, activities which bring family members or members of the community into the facility, etc.
Attend Care Conference/plan meetings.
Attend Stand up meetings or other meetings as directed by the Administrator.
Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner as observed by Director and peers.
Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly manner as measured by management observation and peer input.
Maintains professional composure and confidence during stressful situations .
Maintains open communication using appropriate chain of command regarding issues .
Conducts all work activities with respect for rights and wishes of residents, visitors, families and fellow employees.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information at all times, as observed by peers and management.
Presents neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position and Bethel Lutheran Home policy.
Displays a positive attitude within Bethel Lutheran Home departmental lines to contribute to the overall customer service program in place.
