  Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA & PCP designation

  • Strong reconciliation, problem solving and analytical skills

  Day in the life:

  Basically you’re in charge of all our salaried employees’ pay deposits so you can imagine in this role you need to have an understanding of critical deadlines. Your day will typically start with checking employee pay status, salary change, issue ROE and ensure semi-monthly payment amount are accurate while prioritizing any urgent tasks.

  On a weekly basis, you will be filing CRA remittance, semi-monthly you will be completing salary payroll. On a monthly basis, you will be responsible for filing WSIB, EHT and run payroll accrual at whole group level which is including hourly and salary payroll, run reconciliation on payroll receivable and liability, also submit payroll expense and burden analysis to the management. Along with these tasks, you will prepare T4s and other T forms on an annual basis.

  Throughout your time at the office, you will be crunching numbers by navigating through pay codes and payroll softwares as well as accounts reconciliation. Your work directly impacts everyone’s paycheck and tax filing therefore their livelihood as well. While completing your day to day tasks you will also be responsible for staying up to date on any payroll regulation changes and softwares.
