Summary of Position
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide effective instruction in the subject area, helping to fulfill the College’s goal of providing a quality education for all students attending CTC .
Minimum Required Education
Masters Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education including 18 graduate hours in Speech or Communication Studies is required.
Minimum Required Experience
Three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary or secondary level in Speech is preferred; minimum of one year of experience with collegiate level speech and debate team is required, coaching preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This position requires demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught, and the ability to teach the subject matter effectively and communicate clearly with students. Able to coach students in the various aspects of Speech and Debate competition. Must have experience with an LMS (such as Blackboard), Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Must have an ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, and dual credit students. Must be willing to travel and supervise Speech and Debate team at all competitions. *A successful background check is required for all CTC employment.
