Job Description
We are seeking a Test Engineering Intern for summer 2024 for our Stennis Space Center (SSC) facility in Mississippi.
Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Aerojet Rocketdyne’s facility located at NASA’s Stennis Space Center, MS helped build and test the rocket engines that took humans to the Moon with Apollo, low-earth orbit with the Space Shuttle program, and now we are going farther than ever before with NASA’s Artemis program!
Essential Functions
The intern will have an opportunity to learn and/or use basic engineering and Operations principles, theories and concepts in support of RS-25 engine test and processing activities.
100% - Under close supervision and following specific detailed instructions, the intern performs entry-level operations engineering assignments such as authoring work instructions using drawings and other requirements, performing modifications to mechanical and fluid test systems, and/or any special projects as directed. This is expected to include tasks in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering as well. Responsibilities include both general and specialized assignments that provide training and work experience of a developmental nature.
Qualifications
Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (or similar major) and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.

3.2 GPA or above
Junior standing or above
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, product drawing, and related specifications
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with the ability to work with little direction
Leadership & teamwork skills
