Sign-onBonus available up to \$2000 total (paid after completing 6-months and1-year of employment) Assesses clinical needs and coordinatesappropriate services for individuals and others whose needs becomeapparent in the course of contact in the context of communityinteractions and/or during work with law enforcement. Brief counseling,psycho-education and linkage of individuals in need of other county andcommunity resources is part of this role. May provide communityoutreach, education and consultation regarding clinical issues. Pleasenote: This position is primarily in the field working in closecommunication and response with local law enforcement agencies.Essential Duties Serves as liaison with consumers/patients, families,referral sources, community agents and others regarding services asneeded; obtains and provides accurate and timely reports ofconsumer/patient status, progress and needs. Demonstrates familiaritywith patient and other rights, assures their application in servicesprovided. Achieves engagement and conducts psychosocial histories andclinical assessments of need. Ensures clients and relatives understandthe nature of probable cause hearings, commitment hearings, andrecommitment hearings. Helps coordinate treatment/program admission anddischarge planning when applicable, demonstrating collaboration withconsumer/patients, their support networks, other department staff, andalternative treatment resources as needed to assure access to necessaryliving arrangements, clinical and other care. Complies with applicablecounty, state and federal guidelines related to the provision oftreatment and maintains accurate and timely documentation according toapplicable requirements, codes, policies and standards. Identifies theneed for and assists in the planning and development of additional orrevised treatment approaches and services as necessary. Assumesresponsibility for and participates in activities which assure evidencebased practice and further professional growth and development.Demonstrates an understanding and practice of dualdiagnosis/co-occurring approaches and works with team members to addressthese issues. Attends and positively contributes to staff meetings anddepartment performance overall. Attends in-service and outside agencytraining sessions as appropriate. Maintains the confidential nature ofclient and business information. Complies with the Human Services and/orCommunity Treatment Center policies. Performs related functions asassigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge ofpsychopathology, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques.Knowledge of alcohol and other drug abuse dynamics, programs andtreatment methodology. Knowledge of applicable laws (Chapter 45, 51 &55) and related court procedures. Knowledge of community human servicesresources and utilization. Ability to assess clinical needs in the areasof mental health and addiction disorders and determine treatment needs.Ability to form positive relationships and engage consumers/patients andtheir families in treatment approaches. Ability to establish andmaintain effective working relationships with other staff and thepublic. Ability to be decisive and to make sound decisions under thepressure of crisis or emergency situations. Ability to workindependently.
