Description Robert Half has an excellent opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper with a company in the Construction/Contractor industry. In this role, you will handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements; and establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business. Based in Dallas, Texas, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.
What you get to do every day
Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records
Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time Requirements - Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Office Suites
Basic Bookkeeping experience
Practical knowledge of Sage 50
Bookkeeping Functions experience
Full charge bookkeeping experience
Quality experience with Peachtree Sage
Knowledge of bookkeeping
General familiarity with Collections
Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations
Full charge bookkeeping experience
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Payroll experience preferred
Proficiency with Excel, Quickbooks, and PeachtreeAble to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
