Overview Radiology Technician is responsible for performing general x-ray in addition to assists the physicians) during fluoroscopy procedures and practices sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination when necessary. Job Details Responsibilities: Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging. Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety. Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions. Prepare patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient. Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders. Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Contributes to and consistently applies Catholic Health policies, procedures, and benefits to all customers and/or employees without discrimination. Minimizing radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. Position Requirements and Qualifications Education: Radiologic applicants must be graduates from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. ARRT cert is required as well as current NY State license as a Registered Radiological Technologist or Registry eligible. Current BLS for healthcare provider CPR or CRP/AED certification. Experience: At least one year of Radiologic Technologist preferred. Salary Range USD $38.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location.
