The Program Coordinator coordinates operations associated with the NSCD weeklyand custom group programs. The Program Coordinator provides direct clientservices instruction.
Job Duties
The job duties of this position are performed personally, in cooperationwith your supervisor, and/or in coordination with other staff. Additionalwork functions and duties may be assigned.Coordinates and instructs programs daily in all programs offered in Denverwith a focus on white water rafting, and lake kayaking, canoeing, andS.U.P. Other program areas include rock climbing, mountain biking,shooting sports, NSCD Moves obstacle course, NSCD low ropes, abilityclinics, camps, and more.Sets and maintains outdoor venues for safe recreational programs for allDenver program activities.Acts as agency liaison to coordinate group program needs.Oversees weekly and/or custom group programs, including scheduling,volunteer coordination and participant support.Prepares and coordinates all equipment needed based on activity andparticipants in advance of each program and ensures equipment is in safe,working condition and/or coordinates with the equipment andfacilities department to conduct repairs as needed.Ensures awareness and completion of group program participantassessments, evaluations, and recommendations.Maintains participant records, group accounting, and reports statisticsfor groups through the client data and reservations management system.Plans and coordinates special events for assigned programs.Keeps volunteer attendance, reviews volunteer performance, and makesrecommendations for continued volunteer participation.Performs student assessments and plans lessons according to adaptive sportsand therapeutic recreation concepts.Selects appropriate teaching system and equipment and sets goals and planslesson according to therapeutic recreation concepts.Instructs individual or group lessons using appropriate teachingprogressions and exercises.Documents student progress, maintains accurate records, and makesrecommendations for future lessons.Supports overnight camping trips and multi-day camps as needed.Attends all required NSCD training sessions and meets standards to passtraining.Assists with NSCD volunteer services and special events.Consistently follows safety procedures and utilizes appropriate safetyequipment.Creates and maintains a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude whileeffectively dealing with guests and other employees.Professional PerformanceAdhere to all Personnel Policies and Procedures for the Agency.Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, andappearance at all times; act as a role model both at and away from the Agency.Maintain a creative, team-building approach to job performance and seekto bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks.Performs all tasks and responsibilities with attention to detail and in acomplete and timely manner, complying with Agency policies and standards andconforming to the scheduling requirements of the job and program.Maintain an awareness of the Agency s mission and work to promote thepositive individual and social change goals.it embodies.Exercise discretion and professional judgment at all times keeping with theresponsibilities carried personally and by the Agency for the care and welfareof the clients.Acts with honesty and integrity in all aspects of Agency business.Actively strive to upgrade professional skills through engaging inappropriate professional training and experience.Actively strive to create and maintain a culturally sensitive environmentthrough communication and interaction that demonstrates respect fordiversity, socio-economic and cultural differences.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.College degree in Outdoor Recreation, Special Education, TherapeuticRecrea ion, or related field preferred.Current CPR and Advanced First Aid required within a month of job offerrequired.Intermediate ability or better in outdoor sports appropriate to NSCDrequired.Certifications in Rafting and Watersports attainable within 90 days ofhire: Colorado Certified Raft Guide or above required within 90 days ofhire. ACA Level 1 instructor or above, Swift Water Rescue a plus.Two years experience river rafting required.Two years experience paddling required.Certifications in other outdoor sports appropriate to the NSCD such as :AMGA SPI, USA Archery Level 1-2 Instructor a plus.Two-years experience in adaptive sports instruction preferred.Two-years experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.Two years experience working in outdoor recreation field preferred.Must be computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft OfficeSuite and able to learn new software as needed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to implement Agency vision, mission, values, and strategic plan.Ability to handle multiple tasks and to assess and change priorities basedupon agency needs.Strategic thinker who communicates professionally and effectively withdiverse staff, volunteers, donors, prospects, and community stakeholders.Ability to maintain consistent exercise of discretion and confidentialityin the performance of duties.Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, initiative, and
