About General Manager-Optical

  JOB REQUIREMENTS: Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of publicor private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities includeformulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use ofmaterials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in natureto be classified in any one functional area of management oradministration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrativeservices. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, andother performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement andto determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.Perform sales floor work, such as greeting or assisting customers,stocking shelves, or taking inventory. Oversee activities directlyrelated to making products or providing services. Monitor businesses andagencies to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide neededservices while staying within budgetary limits. Manage the movement ofgoods into and out of production facilities. Manage staff, preparingwork schedules and assigning specific duties. Establish and implementdepartmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferringwith board members, organization officials, and staff members asnecessary. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUMKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: ABO/Shopko OCECertification required within 12 months of hire/promotion High SchoolGraduate or equivalent 3 years of leadership experience or equivalentmanagement experience with strong customer service focus (preferably inan optical or retail setting) Optician experience desired Proven abilityto lead, coach and build relationships in a professional environmentAble to direct and motivate a diverse teammate network Able to analyzeand solve issues of varied scope: able to act decisively to implementsolutions Solid organizational and planning skills Able to continuouslymonitor progress in relation to goal attainment Able to analysefinancial data, recognize opportunities for improvement and formulateplans to address.
