CenterWell is seeking a dedicated, compassionate and cheerful MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST who is interested in being a part of something great! Due to company needs, we anticipate a need to hire variable staff to fill the medical receptionist role for our clinics. The medical receptionist will be covering PTO, Sick calls on a PRN basis. The medical receptionist will float between Central Florida clinics.
The Medical Receptionist - VSP / Float Central Florida receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Medical Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments.
The Medical Receptionist - VSP / Float Central Florida operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Takes and distributes accurate messages. Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintains visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as the organization's location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address.
Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

VSP Medical Receptionist Job Functions:
Welcomes patients and visitors
Comforts and assists patients, answering patients' questions
Maintains the reception area
Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies
Front office duties including: appointment scheduling, check in/out patients, answer phones, verification of insurances, collecting patient charges
Responsible for covering PTO, Sick calls and on a PRN basis.
Floater between Central Florida clinics.

Required Qualifications
Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment
Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time within the Central Florida market, from Poinciana to The Villages.
*Minimum of 1-year professional customer service experience as a Medical Receptionist in 'front-office' direct patient care contact
Willingness to learn and be cross trained in other roles based on business need
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HEDIS
Experience with Electronic Medical Records
Previous experience in a geriatric setting
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
VSP Medical Receptionist Working hours:
This role is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) job, similar to a PRN [as needed] job
This role is a float position for the Central Florida Market (100% travel required anywhere from Poinciana to The Villages)
Minimum schedule is 32 hours per week
Hours can change and vary based on business needs
The standard clinic hours are Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
Mileage reimbursement is offered
