Job Description:
The VP Labor and Employment Counsel holds the responsibility that minimize Kaleida Health corporate risks for the delivery of system wide leadership and legal counsel as it relates to labor and employment.
Performs the general duties of a labor and employment attorney by handling employment litigation and other labor/employment matters. Acts as legal counsel to the Human Resources team and the Kaleida Health management team.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:
JD degree from an accredited law school. License to practice law in New York State; good standing. 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or comparable experience in business or in-house corporate setting. Conducting legal research and investigations. Analyzing case law, laws and regulations and providing recommendations. Communicating (written, one-on-one, presentation) with diverse audiences including labor, management, executives and HR. Negotiating contracts and MOUs. Coaching colleagues and clients. Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications:
*In-depth and hands on labor relations experience in large complex unionized environments
Main table collective bargaining
National Labor Relations Act
Procedures of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service
People leadership and management experience

$200,000-$235,000 annually Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
