About Vineyard Technician

  1 full time, temporary, seasonal H-2A position available 03/02/2024- 11/30/2024.

  All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Box 3 & 4, Page 1. Job duties include planting vines, maintenance of and repair of vineyard infrastructure (trellising, posts etc.), maintenance of vineyard (mowing, weeding, rototilling etc.),maintenance and care of vines, (training, tying, pruning, cluster-thinning, trimming and general canopy management, cover vines with nets and install wild life deterrents). In addition, workers will organize harvesting and harvest (prepare equipment etc.), maintenance of equipment (tractors, mowers, trimmers, rototillers ATV's etc.).

  The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the worker to satisfactorily perform the duties described in the job description. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions, including temperatures as low as 25 degrees with snow up to one foot deep and as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. Work requires long periods of standing, bending and kneeling. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and be available to work 5 days a week with Sunday's for worship.

  Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Worker will be given 30 minutes for lunch. Beginning and ending times will vary depending on the conditions in the orchard. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.

  Requirements:* Three months experience of the duties mentioned* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds * Exposure to extreme temperatures * Extensive pushing/pulling/sitting/walking, frequent stooping, and repetitive movements
