Work with senior management and other executives within the organization to assess the current processes within Finance to ensure timely, accurate and relevant financial information is prepared and available
Actively engage with external service providers (internal audit, external audit, etc.) to identify areas for process improvement
Participate in appropriate groups to learn about upcoming organizational and strategic changes to assess the impact of the changes on the finance team’s processes and data, and implement appropriate process changes to support new requirements
Support project management across all phases of the project life-cycle. Develop tools and processes and provides ongoing support. Identify and use appropriate project management tools and concepts (scope management, planning, budget management, risk/issue management, communications management)
Develop and execute work plan. Set priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency. Deliver projects on time and within budget
Manage communication to and relationships with key project stakeholders. Compose, edit, and deliver written and verbal communications. Facilitates group discussions. Keeps team members appropriately informed
Establish operating budgets and forecasts long-term budgetary needs, processes, and resources
Provide consultation and works with teams to achieve sustainable change in Finance processes and solutions
Collaborate with the Finance Business Information System Dept to create a multi-year roadmap that addresses current technology gaps and optimization needs for all areas with Finance
Provide leadership to staff in the Quality and Process Improvement department and inspire and motivate others to perform well
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field and 10+ years of financial reporting, auditing and/or accounting experience is required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
Experience working in large, multi-entity organization. Knowledge of ERP system, specifically PeopleSoft is preferred.
Strong project management and leadership skills, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, developing timelines for implementation, identifying resource needs and potential impacts, and managing their progress.
High level of problem solving skills. Incumbent must collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
Ability to work with financial and information technology resources to implement viable and sustainable recommended solutions
Strong knowledge of back office finance (general accounting and reporting, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, taxes, research finance, decision support, etc.) operations as it relates to healthcare
