BMCC is seeking an experienced senior administrative professional to join the College as the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Reporting to the President, the Vice President provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, and administrative management to ensure the fiscal integrity and operational efficiency of the College.
Serving as a member of the President’s cabinet, this position collaborates with the senior leadership in promoting financial sustainability and operational excellence.
The key responsibilities for the Vice President of Finance and Administration will include, but not limited to the following:
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and key controls to ensure College’s financial integrity and compliance.
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Collaborate with senior leadership in the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation in line with institutional priorities.
Contribute to the College’s strategic planning by providing financial and administrative insight and recommendations.
Provide financial analysis and reports to the President and the senior leadership.
Provide oversight and leadership for day-to-day management of financial and administrative functions of the College, including Business Services, Accounting, Purchasing, Bursar, Public Safety, Capital Projects, Facilities, and Events Planning.
Stay informed about changes in financial regulations impacting higher education and implement necessary adjustments.
Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of the College’s operating and capital budgets.
Define and implement key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the division and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the President and executive management.
Communicate accurate, timely and transparent financial information and strategies to the University and the College community effectively.
Direct the planning, management and evaluation of finance and current administrative functions to enhance student learning.
Serve as the principal liaison with the University, city/state agencies and other entities regarding fiscal matters.
Other duties as assigned by the President.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
Extensive experience in financial management, preferably within higher education.
Strong understanding of higher education administration and finance.
Knowledge of public finance, relevant laws and regulations, funding models for public universities and best practices in financial management for higher education institutions.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills.
Strategic thinking and the ability to align financial strategies with institutional goals.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster a culture of transparency and accountabilityTop of Form.
Experience in working in a large urban Community College environment.
Familiarity with multi campus university system.
CUNY TITLE

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$175,000 - $195,000.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
