New Hanover County is seeking an experienced Human Services professional to serve as a Veterans Treatment Court Coordinator in the Community Justice Services department. This grant funded position is responsible for coordination of a newly established veterans treatment court, serving as a liaison between the criminal justice system, treatment system, and supplemental support services. This position will operate in various environments to include: work in an office setting, partial telework from home, and applicable court settings. Duties will include screening and assessing the needs of prospective clients to determine a course of action to successfully complete the program while operating within the guidelines and standard operating procedures for treatment courts; making community referrals; maintaining relationships with partner agencies; monitoring and tracking client progress and participant program compliance to include advocating for participant needs, providing personal support, education, and crisis management sufficient to promote wellness, rehabilitation, and progress; facilitating Treatment Team meetings and documenting the case planning process with other team members to include compiling court status reports for team meetings and reviewing court documents; providing education and outreach about treatment courts to community agencies; and maintaining computerized statistical reports and files. Position requires knowledge of the local behavioral health treatment system and an understanding of adult mental health and substance use enhanced services.
The Community Justice Services department provides an array of prevention and intervention programs and services targeted at preventing and reducing crime risk for the at-risk, diverted and offender populations through our Youth Empowerment Services and Adult Enhancement Services Divisions. Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor'sDegree incriminal justice,human servicesfield,ora related field,andthree (3)years of related case coordination experience for a specialized criminal justice program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.What will make your application stand out:
