What You'll Do
As a member of our Individual Life New Business Underwriting Team, you'll be part of a mid-level underwriting team handling risk assessments on life insurance applicants. You’ll also be responsible for communicating and building strong partnerships with our field offices and agents. Here are a few examples of the types of things you'll do:
Support marketing goals by issuing life insurance coverage on a favorable and timely basis consistent with mortality objectives.
Support profitability goals by assessing the expected mortality/morbidity of individual life applicants, analyzing medical, non-medical, and financial information and classifying risk appropriately.
While acting within a brokerage agency underwriting capacity, negotiate offers for placement of policies with the appropriate carrier. This may include acting as a partner to sales managers and producers to arrive at the best solution for a proposed insured.

Who You Are
College degree or equivalent and 4+ years of individual life underwriting experience plus advanced knowledge of multi-life and other insurance arrangements, financial documents, and tax forms used in personal and/or business planning.
Ability to use creativity in finding ways to facilitate sale of key cases or explain the company's position on adverse decisions.
Maintain professional level of expertise recognized both within and outside the company.
Exemplify strong leadership and work in a constantly evolving environment.
Ongoing progress towards FLMI, RHU and AALU designations and participation in CLU education courses.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$63750 - $121200 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements.
