Job Summary Demonstratesspecialized depth and / or breadth of expertise in training andmentoring team members in the use of test lab equipment control systemsin support of product and systems engineering, advanced innovation, longterm technology development and quality initiatives within ProductDevelopment Engineering. Impacts the achievement of various regulatorytesting that enables Harley-Davidson Motor Company to support theworld-wide availability of its products. Job Responsibilities Resolvescomplex problems involving test criteria, test standards, application oftest methods and analysis of test results. Deep expertise in ability toanalyze, compile, and report quality test results to engineering in atimely manner. Develops new techniques using state-of-the-arttechnologies, develops current tests, improves processes in order toreduce test and product development time. Works independently, requiringguidance on only the most complex situations while successfully applyinginstrumentation tools and techniques and providing high quality testdata through detailed understanding of transducer designs, calibration,limitations, and their appropriate usage. Strict adherence to and leadsothers within own and across other departments in the 5S concept and allother supporting Continuous Improvement methods. Applies andcommunicates difficult concepts such as statistical analysis in dailywork and negotiates with others to effectively influence Root CauseAnalysis (e.g. Cause Map, Fishbone, etc.) as appropriate within own andacross departments. Develops new (component, system, or vehicle) testmethods to evaluate new failure modes or a new component/system.
