Job Overview
Supervise, direct, and monitor the tool room for the organization including the development, performance and maintenance of the tool room and stock control to produce an efficient system and delivery solution.
A Day In The Life
Manage and supervise daily workload of Toolroom to include the following:
Machine and/or fabricate fixtures, jigs, dies, and other miscellaneous tooling as required for production equipment.
Machine and/or fabricate sample parts for Engineering.
Help solve problems in the manufacturing area, through observation, advice and by modifying tooling as required.
Assist in tooling set ups and changeovers as needed.
Perform periodic maintenance and lubrication of tool room equipment.
Design, modify, or make special tools according to specifications or tooling requirements.
What will help you thrive in this role?
1-5 years of supervisory experience of 1-5 people
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Teaching others how to do something.
Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
