Join our team as a Surgical Technologist at HealthPartners Same Day Surgery! You will be specifically involved with preparation of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgery; to provide and maintain a sterile field; to assist the surgical staff with technical aspects during surgery; care for equipment and medical supplies following surgery; and performs other duties as assigned. The person who fills this role must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area. Schedule will be Monday - Friday with shifts from 0645-1515 or 0845-1715. No nights, call, weekends, or holidays expected. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of aseptic technique Knowledge of sterilization techniques Knowledge of surgical instruments procedures and related supplies Knowledge of patient legal rights Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and microbiology Ability to establish effective working relationships with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors Required Qualifications: Completion of surgical technologist training program Completion of national certification exam offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or completion of exam within 6 months of hire date. Certification to be maintained by employee during length of employment.
