Columbia University's Department of Medicine is inviting applicants for a Staff Associate I position to join the Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory at CUIMC to participate in cutting edge immunotherapy clinical trials using novel CAR-T cells and TCR T cells for treatment of cancer and viral infections. Experienced, enthusiastic and committed, the Staff Associate will need to demonstrate background in immunology and/or immunotherapy, proficiency in working in a clean room environment, using aseptic techniques, maintaining tissue cultures and performing required assays (e.g. flow cytometry, cytotoxicity and sterility) on human lymphocytes.
The Staff Associate will participate in all aspects of pre-clinical development of the GMP products, and routine manufacturing activities under approved INDs. Works independently, assists in design of experiments and protocols, offering guidance and teaching to the junior members of the team. Produces, maintains, and cryopreserves cGMP grade cell lines. Develops and performs assays on cellular products for functionality and safety. Performs a variety of techniques including qPCR, ELISA and flow cytometry. Performs daily QC on instruments, as appropriate, and monitor that preventive maintenance is timely performed on laboratory instruments and equipment. Performs genetic modification of human lymphocytes with different vectors. Complies with facility's standard operating procedures and policies. Adheres to and maintains understanding of regulatory requirements including cGTP, FDA, FACT standards. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
