Robert Half is partnering with a well established but fast growing Baton Rouge company in search of a diligent and meticulous Staff Accountant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and reporting on the company's leased assets and fixed asset portfolio while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities:

• Participate in the month-end close process by preparing adjusting and recurring journal entries and analyzing the general ledger accounts to guarantee record accuracy.

• Monitor lease modifications, renewals, and terminations, and accurately reflect these changes in the financial records.

• Prepare and review lease accounting entries and reconciliations.

• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.

• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure timely capitalization of asset purchases.

• Track and manage fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

• Stay updated with accounting principles to ensure continuous improvement of procedures for optimal departmental performance and accuracy.

• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

• Protect the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality.

• Support special projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrated ability to manage General Ledger

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries

• Proven capability in handling Month End Close processes

• Familiarity with the NetSuite software system a plus

• Experience in managing Fixed Assets a plus

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
