Description

　　A Transactional Services Technical Program Manager (TPM) leads initiatives across AWS to deliver ever-stronger availability, scalability, and price/performance for customers. They work with engineers to formulate and solve deeply technical problems in distributed system engineering, and work with managers and other TPMs to facilitate adoption of the solutions. In the process, they develop a broad, detailed understanding of how AWS works. If this sounds appealing, read on.

　　The Transactional Services team develops distributed system technologies that underpin AWS and its range of services. These technologies include a consensus system, a distributed log service, and a foundational distributed database product.

　　As a TPM for the team, you will partner with a wide range of AWS teams to understand their needs; work with product management and engineering to shape the Transactional Services roadmap in a way that addresses those needs; and lead projects to both deliver and integrate the solutions.

　　We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

　　Seattle, WA, USA

　　Basic Qualifications

　　5+ years of technical product or program management experience

　　3+ years of software development experience

　　Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Professional experience developing any of the following, as an engineer, program/project manager, product manager, or people manager: databases, storage systems, messaging or streaming technologies, distributed system foundations (e.g. consensus protocols, time synchronization primitives), operating systems, networking foundations, or high-leverage, high-standards platform technologies.

　　Experience planning and executing projects spanning 10+ teams and with visibility across multiple executives.

　　Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
