Sr. Manager, Research Lead
This is a Hybrid position located in Plano, TX. Relocation to Plano, TX is required if you're not located in the Dallas, TX area.
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Research Lead to join our central research team and focus on portfolio strategy and deep customer research to support our Navigator Platform line of business within our Financial Services division. Navigator Platform is our flagship digital ecosystem of products which allow dealers to connect with more car buyers, and help them during the vehicle purchase. This large portfolio includes 3 Experiences: Dealer Success Solutions, Online Car Buying, and Marketing & Analytics as a Service. As a research leader and doer, your role is to sit within the Navigator Platform Design Leadership team, deliver research against strategic initiatives, evolve our research strategy within the LOB, and lead a team to deliver exceptional quality while mentoring and supporting other Designers who do research themselves.

What You'll Do:
As a leader and researcher, you'll be asked to handle responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Strategy & Planning
Collaborating with design, technology, product, and business teams to understand the business, deeply embed, and understand our consumer and dealership customers in new waysLead and shape how research gets done within Navigator Platform, balancing the macro Research strategy, and the micro individual needs of Designers who do their own researchTranslating findings into actionable insights that guide experience decisionsActively engage with other researchers, and the Design Leadership team to help set the strategy and road map for Navigator PlatformManage through open-ended problems and support early product definitionAdvocate for the customer through human-centered research methodsWork with partners and teams across various geographies, and multiple Experiences,Embrace and advocate for an experience mindset - this is as important to the work as the resultsReporting to, and supporting, the Director of Design Research in evolving and executing our Vision and Strategy to mature the XD Research practice across and the enterprise
Lead & Develop Teams
Leading a successful team through career development by demonstrating, mentoring, coaching, and elevatingGuide team member(s) in research planning, alignment, execution, analysis, and follow-upNavigating conflict resolution in our team, as well as within projects, teams and partner relationships to drive valuable collaborationAs needed, participate in hiring by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and attending consensus
Execution & Delivery
This role will require ~25% of travel to support E2E research with dealershipsDemonstrate fluency of research tools and techniques to measure success, present opportunities, and support decision-making utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methodsPractice and help evolve the team's research techniques and toolset to work effectively in cross-team collaborationDeliver with haste, rigor, and exceptional quality to support the changing needs of the businessRemain agile and willing to work with changing requirements while balancing disciplined planning to anticipate and recommend where we need research nextParticipate in end-to-end research by:
Conducting research studies at all stages from discovery to validation, leveraging various methodologiesLeading designers and non-designers on project teams to understand and apply research findings by framing problems, defining insights, and designing new methods/practices to serve research needsFacilitate synthesis and knowledge mapping sessions, teaching research methodologiesDistilling findings into clearly articulated and actionable insights for stakeholders by clearly articulating strategiesKnowledge management and dissemination of insights, and creating standards for how research is done, shared, templatized and managedPlanning and facilitating workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needsPresent and communicate research and analysis clearly and effectively across various organizations in any format required. Must be able to sell, support, explain, and simply present research to various audience types
Basic Qualifications
At least 7 years of experience with Design, or user, product, or market researchAt least 2 years of people leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in social sciences, human factor, cognitive science, human computer interaction or behavioral economicsExperience leading large bodies of work, research strategy and teamsComfortable working with agile and legal teamsFamiliarity with conducting and analyzing research for cross channel experiencesComfortable working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomesExperience managing a cross-functional team
