Description One of our clients in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry is looking for a long-term contract / contract Senior Financial Analyst. Kentwood, Michigan will be the location for this Senior Financial Analyst. You might be right for this role if you like the idea of being our client's primary point of contact for all financial issues, including project spending, planning, forecasting and annual budgeting. The Senior Financial Analyst consultant will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments.

How you will make an impact

Assess and execute financial analysis in order to optimize business performance

Execute assistance in all ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests

Drive improved management reporting - work with Operations and Accounting to more discreetly and accurately track financial results

Draft quarterly and monthly management reporting - evaluating financial results, summarizing key trends, analyzing current and future business risks, and flagging critical updates to senior leadership

Build advantageous relationships with integral business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

Provide management reporting, accounting and compliance guidance, and ensure alignment of operational initiatives by working closely with the Functional leads

Help create sustainable business, operational, and financial processes to be understood by all necessary teams

Evaluate financial results, summarize key issues, and articulate integral messages to senior management in order to drive existing management reporting Requirements - Able to think critically and operate effectively with management

A BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, or related field necessary

Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

Comprehensive knowledge of project management

Costing experience

Month end closings experience

Proven knowledge of costing

Margin Analysis experience preferred

Strong familiarity with Margin Analysis

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Demonstrated skills in process reengineering and optimization

Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint

Familiarity in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented
